James Nicholls

James has been working as an agent at Strada Music for four years, representing both emerging artists and more established acts. He has supported artists from their first summer of festivals right through to large-scale theatre tours, and has represented both artists and his agency at festivals, conferences, and trade events including IFF, WOMEX, Celtic Connections, EFEx, MUSIC PEI, Green Man, EOTR, Deer Shed, FITM, Glastonbury, BST Hyde Park, and Cambridge Folk Festival.

Drawing on his own experience as a performer — he first picked up the violin as a seven-year-old — James brings practical knowledge of the live circuit and a passion for helping artists develop. His taste leans towards classic songwriting and poetic lyrics, with a particular fondness for the great folk songwriters of the 1960s and 70s. His work as an artist has been featured on BBC Radio 1, 2, and 6Music.
