The Watch Plays Genesis
“The Watch is a band of very talented people and I recommend them…” ~ Steve Hackett
The Watch is a 5-member band, whose music is inspired by the classic progressive rock of the 70s and in particular by the music of Genesis.
In 2010 the band started to perform live shows dedicated to the albums of Genesis, focusing in particular on the period when Peter Gabriel was still leading the band.
With their deliciously intense performances of early Genesis classics, The Watch has aroused enormous interest from Genesis fans, bringing the band, from year to year, on more and more articulated tours throughout Europe and UK.
No other group manages to capture the adventurousness and electricity of Genesis in their pioneering days with quite such raw emotion.
Not just a cold reproduction or imitation but the real vibe of a live gig, performed with the same energy the British quintet had during the 70’s, before firstly Gabriel left to pursue his own solo career, followed three albums later by guitarist Steve Hackett.
The dramatic Gabrielesque vocals of The Watch singer Simone Rossetti, closest ever to Peter Gabriel, and the all-round instrumental excellence ensure every night is a travel back in time to the early days.
“What’s unique here are the vocals, so very similar to those of a young Peter Gabriel…” ~ UK Prog Newsletter
