Berber Diffusion

Hypnotic North African grooves meet high-energy live performance—Berber Diffusion are a guaranteed dancefloor moment for festivals and parties alike.

Berber Diffusion are London’s first traditional Amazigh ensemble, delivering a powerful, contemporary take on North Africa’s indigenous musical heritage. Fusing Amazigh pentatonic melodies with the deep, trance-driven rhythms of Gnawa, their sound bridges ancient tradition and modern global energy.

Rooted in the rich cultural legacy of the Amazigh people, the band draws on centuries-old traditions of poetry, ceremony, and celebration—reimagined for today’s stages with both authenticity and edge.

At the heart of the project is founder, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Abdellah Rais, trained in Agadir and across Morocco. Performing on guembri, qraqab, banjo, and percussion, he brings a masterful command of traditional forms alongside a forward-looking, cross-cultural approach.

Uniting a dynamic lineup of African and European musicians, Berber Diffusion create a vibrant, cross-cultural sound that is both deeply rooted and globally resonant.

Now a standout act on the UK and European world music circuit, Berber Diffusion have lit up festivals and venues with their high-energy, rhythm-driven performances. Perfect for festivals, parties, and late-night stages, their shows are immersive, interactive, and built to move crowds—turning any audience into a dancefloor.

Berber Diffusion deliver an electrifying live experience where heritage meets groove—authentic, uplifting, and impossible to stand still to.

“Hypnotic rhythms, rich textures, and unstoppable energy—Berber Diffusion are impossible to stand still to.”
