Alex Johnston-Seymour –  Marketing Officer

With his entrepreneurial and ambitious spirit, from busking tours and live-streaming before Covid, to performing at Leeds Fest and supporting Shelagh MacDonald and Jon Gomm, to designing a zero carbon tour, Alex has gained multi-faceted music business skills from experience on and off the stage over the past decade.

Original founder of alternative band The Tenmours (2013) at Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire), Alex has continued to pursue his passion for composition and production, which now sees him returning there in 2021 to study a masters degree. Alex has deeply held climate concerns and has assisted in organising large-scale music events for environmental campaigning groups.

Dedicated to his artistic career, he has also had a significant presence on the Leeds busking scene, with his story being exhibited at Abbey House Museum in Kirkstall. Further to Alex’s interest in music education, he is a pupil of the world renowned Carnatic artist Jyotsna Srikanth, and has been teaching music for 7 years.

Alex’s flair for music business saw him become employed by Breathing Space HR as marketing assistant, where he was trained by the internationally respected expert Clare Morgan.

He now brings his unique blend of music business and marketing skills to Strada as their marketing officer.
